When choosing between Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL), several factors should be taken into account. The most important is the total volume of cargo, measured in cubic meters (CBM). As a rule of thumb, shipments under 18 CBM are usually more economical to send via LCL, since they do not fill an entire container and sharing space is more cost-effective. However, once the cargo volume surpasses 18 CBM, it typically becomes more cost-efficient to opt for FCL.

We recommend reaching out to your account manager if you have a question about a specific shipment.
