Customs Hold

A customs hold is a situation whereby goods or cargo are held and examined by customs officials before they are allowed to proceed into a country. It's a standard procedure to ensure that all taxes, duties, and regulations have been adhered to, and that the goods being brought into the country are legal and properly declared. The cargo is not allowed to leave the customs area until it has been cleared by the customs officials.
