An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a tax identification number assigned by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to identify business entities in the United States. The EIN is also used by U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) to link businesses to their import or export activities, including customs bonds, customs entries, and ISF filings.
