Waiting Time

Waiting time refers to the period a truck driver spends waiting, typically at the pickup or delivery destination, for cargo to be loaded or unloaded. This could also include time spent waiting for clearance to enter a terminal, dock, or other stop. Depending on the terms of the freight contract, additional charges might be imposed if the waiting time exceeds a certain limit, as this extra time can delay the driver from proceeding to their next assignment. It's also known as detention time in some contexts.
