What is an HTS Code?
HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes are product classification numbers, typically 8 to 10 digits long, that help determine the customs duties owed when importing goods into the United States. The first six digits, referred to as the HS code, are globally standardized, while the following digits offer additional classification details unique to the importing country. In the U.S., HTS codes are 10 digits and are managed by the U.S. International Trade Commission.
