Clearing Customs & Paying Duties
Table of Contents
Using the Shippabo platform and working with our Operations Teams, businesses can move their products through customs and pay any duties assessed. Or if you prefer to use a personal broker that works for us! You'll want them to join your supply chain network on the Shippabo platform. This quick guide will walk you through that process.
Using Your Own Broker
With Shippabo, we offer a lot of flexibility to our users. That works for us if you have your own broker that you'd prefer to keep working with!
However, you must have your broker entered into the Shippabo platform to have complete visibility of the shipping process and complete communications with your partners from start to finish.
To learn more about adding your broker and other logistics partners to the Shippabo platform, please see our guide, [Adding Logistics Partners to Your Supply Chain.]
If Shippabo is Filing Customs For You
We are happy to file customs on your behalf. We'll need two things from you before we can. First, if you have not already, please fill out the Power of Attorney.
Second, We'll need you to upload your commercial invoice and packing list onto the platform to do this. The earlier, the better!
For our Operations Team to file promptly, we request that the user upload this information at least 14 days before port arrival.
Uploading your information is easy! Click on the shipments page and then scroll to the shipment that requires filing. Open up the shipment to full screen.
From here, please refer to our guide How to Upload Documents.
